EYE MEDICATIONS
Being therapeutically qualified means our optometrists are endorsed to use and prescribe ocular medications, going well beyond a standard eye test. This includes the use of medicated drops for diagnostic procedures, as well as prescribing treatments for conditions such as conjunctivitis, keratitis, uveitis, dry eye disease, and glaucoma. We work closely with your GP and refer to ophthalmologists when necessary, ensuring your care is coordinated, timely, and in the right hands. For many patients, this means faster treatment and fewer appointments elsewhere.

OUR SERVICES

CHILDREN'S VISION
Many visual problems in children are subtle and develop slowly, making them easy to overlook at home or in a routine school screening. Yet undetected vision issues can have a significant impact on a child's learning, development, and confidence. Our optometrists use specialised behavioural optometry techniques to assess not just your child's eyesight, but how they process and interpret visual information. We look at focusing ability, eye coordination, tracking, and depth perception, and if we identify any concerns, we'll explain our findings clearly and put together a treatment plan that works for your child and your family.
VISUAL FIELD TESTING
Visual field testing evaluates how well you see objects in your peripheral vision, something a standard eye exam alone cannot fully assess. It is particularly valuable for detecting and monitoring conditions like glaucoma, where changes to your side vision can occur gradually and without obvious symptoms. By mapping your full field of vision, we can identify blind spots and track any progression over time, helping us to catch functional changes early and manage your eye health with greater precision.
COMPREHENSIVE EYE EXAMS
Your vision and eye health can change gradually over time, often without obvious symptoms. That's why we recommend a comprehensive eye exam every two years, and annually for those aged 65 and over. Our optometrists use advanced imaging and diagnostic technology to assess not just your vision, but the overall health of your eyes, including screening for conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and cataracts. Early detection is everything when it comes to eye health, and a thorough check-up gives you the best possible chance of protecting your sight for life.
CONTACT LENS CONSULTATIONS
A contact lens consultation at See Side Optical is a thorough, personalised process. Our optometrists will assess your prescription, eye health, and lifestyle to determine the most suitable lens type for you, whether that's daily disposables, fortnightly or monthly lenses, lenses for astigmatism, multifocal contacts, or specialty options. For new wearers, we take the time to walk you through proper insertion, removal, and care so you feel confident from day one. We stock a comprehensive range from leading brands including CooperVision and Alcon, and offer direct delivery to your door for ongoing supply. Fitting appointments start from $80 for existing wearers and $150 to $160 for new wearers.
